Whenever I feel sluggish, or that I have over indulged on the vino and comfort foods, I make my body boosting broth.
I am always amazed at how much more energy it gives you the next day... a truly good example of 'you are what you eat' !
Bone broths contain many minerals and amino acids which help to aid digestion, muscle repair and strengthens the nervous system and immune system. The collagen from the bone broths convert to gelatin which helps build healthy skin, nails and hair. Arthritis and joint pain can also be relieved due to the broth containing chondroitin and glucosamine.
I always add plenty of veggies to add a vitamin boost and my secret ingredients are: plenty of ginger and lemongrass. Ginger is super good at calming the digestive system and boosting the immunity. Lemongrass has a natural detoxing effect and helps to calm the nervous system. Add rice noodles or wholegrain rice to make a more filling meal and sprinkle pumpkin and sunflower seeds on top.
Not only healthy but yummy and so good for us, I think I’ll be making one of these tonight!
