Barefoot in the Summer and why it’s so good!..

We all enjoy that transition between spring to summer when we start to potter around barefoot, letting our feet feel ‘ freedom’. But more than just getting the fresh air to your toes, did you know that by having our feet in contact with the ground, it helps to ‘ground’ us?! ....

It is said that when we walk barefoot especially on sand/ grass/ soil - ie. a natural surface we are connecting with the Earth's electrons...

Known as earthing or grounding, being barefoot can help to create a ‘conductive system’ that transfers the Earth's electrons from the ground into the body. A review published in the Journal of Environmental and Public Health has highlighted how drawing electrons from the earth improves health and well-being and this has been found to promote positive wellbeing, vitality and better sleep. It’s nice to imagine channels flowing from the ground up into the the body and vice versa, channels releasing into the ground from our bodies down through our feet, I like to think of it as a ‘neutralizer’. So next time you kick your shoes off, think how much good you're doing for your wellbeing, I’m off to stick mine into some lovely Mallorcan sand! ...
